Though relatively small in size—4,700 students—UIndy awards more doctoral degrees than all but four of the largest universities in Indiana.
UIndy produces more physical therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical psychologists than any other university in the state.

Few universities actually own a branch campus in another country, but UIndy owns the University of Indianapolis-Athens, a fully integrated international campus located near historic Syntagma Square at the base of the Acropolis. The University also has affiliations in Belize and China, including a partnership with Ningbo Institute of Technology in China. More than 100 undergraduate students from Ningbo are completing their final two years of college at UIndy.
The Indianapolis Opera Company, a first for the city, was born at UIndy, and the University has close ties to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra as well. Retired ISO conductor Raymond Leppard is artist-in-residence, and 11 ISO musicians teach in UIndy’s Department of Music.
Ruth Lilly Performance Hall in the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center—an Indianapolis landmark—has been rated one of the finest concert halls in the Midwest.
U.S. News & World Report ranks the University of Indianapolis among the top 25 percent of master's degree-granting institutions in the Midwest.

Founded in 1902 by what is now the United Methodist Church, the University of Indianapolis is a comprehensive institution of higher education with a faculty and student body representing diverse faiths, nationalities, and racial and ethnic heritages. The 4,700 students are drawn from around the world to the academically challenging undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs the University offers, particularly the excellent programs in business, education and the nationally ranked health sciences.

UIndy offers 22 master’s degree programs as well as nationally acclaimed doctoral programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and clinical psychology. The University’s interdisciplinary centers, the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning and the Center for Aging & Community, represent the most up-to-date theory and practice in the fields of education and aging.
