off campus:Laurelwood Community Center

Laurelwood is a community about a mile from campus that is part of Indianapolis Housing Agency. The volunteers from UINDY meet on Tuesday evenings in front of the bell tower at 6 and travel/carpool to Laurelwood. We set up whatever activity or get ready for the speaker that is planned for that evening. The kiddos show up from 6:30-7:30. We clean up and are usually back on campus before or at eight. We talk with the kids, have an activity either a craft project or speaker, snack and that's it! Only you make a much bigger difference! We keep track of your volunteer hours and they can be put on your official transcript.
We would love for you to be available for the Tuesdays through the semester, although we understand sometimes you have conflicts. We do not meet on school breaks.
