Falls are not a normal part of aging. They can be prevented. 1 in 4 people aged 65 and older has a fall each year. You don't have to be one of them.
Stepping On Fall Prevention

Stepping On can help you avoid a fall so you can keep doing the things you love to do. In a Stepping On workshop, you will learn:
- To identify and remove or avoid fall hazards in your home and outside
- How vision, hearing, medication, and footwear affect your risk of falling
- Strength and balance exercises you can adapt to your individual level
- To get back on your feet the right way if you do fall
Stepping On, a program developed by the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging, has been researched and proven to reduce falls by 31%. There is a free Stepping On Workshop, hosted by the University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community, once per semester.
To register for the next Stepping On class, please email Becky Fee at feer@uindy.edu or call (317) 791-5930 or fill out the Stepping On Fall Preventation Workshop Registration form.
