Lantz Center for Christian Vocations

Eli said to Samuel:  "...if God calls you, you shall say, Speak Lord, for your servant is listening."

God speaks to us

Often it is a quiet whisper, a gentle nudge, a hunch. It is often only as we reflect that we notice those places where the Lord has been speaking to us.

In college, we face difficult decisions.  It sometimes feels as if there is an endless series of choices including: questions of vocation (Should I be a pastor, nurse, or social worker?) and questions of love (Who or what do I love?), and questions of belief (What do I believe?).  Amidst the near cacophony of sounds competing for our attention.

God still speaks.

The Lantz Center for Christian Vocations and Formation exists as a place to hear God speak,  and to develop the skills to listen. Through a curriculum of classes, retreats, spiritual mentoring, and exploration, a community will develop around you. Through CVOC, you will find a place in the center–a place where you can hear God speaking to you. The Lantz Center for Christian Vocation and Formation produces the Threshold Retreat and the CVOC course sequence.

At UIndy, you have the opportunity to take courses for credit as you explore your vocation and strengthen your faith.  Through these classes, you will build deep relationships with other Christians who will help you listen for God’s direction in your life. CVOC classes become a tight community of Christian friends that will mold your faith.  Those who complete the CVOC program can even earn an academic concentration in Christian Formation.  Regardless of your major or your degree’s requirements, you will be able to add this 1.5 hour course.
