Strategically Planning for Inclusive Excellence: How Do We Get There?

Inclusive Excellence speaks to the rich diversity of the University and how that strengthens us. The University's focal points of student experience and engagement, community engagement and involvement, and faculty/staff excellence with the five metrics identified for Inclusive Excellence at UIndy:

  1. Access & Equity - The compositional number and equity-focused success levels of students, faculty and staff.
  2. Climate - Perceptions and experiences that are inclusive and supportive of all students, faculty and staff.
  3. Diversity in the Curriculum/Co-Curriculum - Culturally inclusive content in courses, programs and experiences across the institution and in the social dimensions of the campus environment.
  4. Intercultural Learning & Development - Acquisition of knowledge and skills about diverse groups and cultures to assist in developing culturally fluency.
  5. Internal/External Community Engagement - Development of knowledge, skills, values and motivation to build partnerships and social capital for the betterment of our campus and communities.

On the UIndy R.A.D.A.R

Inclusive Excellence at UIndy is implemented through the R.A.D.A.R model (Research, Analyze, Design & Development, Assess, Report). The research and analysis phase is accomplished through campus forums. Ideas resulting from these conversations with the campus community allow us to design and implement action plans for further improvement. These plans are then assessed and reported on to evaluate their effectiveness.
