Before you apply to UIndy, it's important to do the following:

Once you fill out your application for admission and we have your application on file, our Transfer Admissions Counselor, who is trained specifically to help students like you, will find the path that uniquely fits your individual journey for the future.

Begin your application to transfer to UIndy today

  • FOLLOW UP WITH YOUR IVY TECH TRANSFER ADVOCATE
Be sure to communicate with your Ivy Tech Transfer Advocate at your local Ivy Tech campus to begin your journey of transferring to UIndy to earn your bachelor’s degree. This would also be the perfect time to connect with our Transfer Admissions Counselor so they can remain vigilant of your needs leading up to the transfer.

  • FILE YOUR FAFSA
Begin working on your financial aid by completing the FAFSA and revising it by adding UIndy’s school code: 001804.
  • STAY ON TOP OF YOUR GRADES
While you finish up the rest of your coursework at Ivy Tech Community College, stay on top of your grades. Your final grades in the courses you currently are taking matter in your course transfer eligibility to UIndy. You must maintain a C average or higher.
  • STAY ORGANIZED FOR DEADLINES
Stay organized to avoid missing important admission or program deadlines at UIndy.
  • PAYMENT & FINANCIAL AID
Make sure payment arrangements and financial aid requirements are finalized by the time of transfer to UIndy. We know this one can be a lot to digest and figure out, so if you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out directly to our Transfer Admissions Counselor for assistance!
  • ATTEND AN ORIENTATION
Make sure you schedule and attend a New Transfer Student Orientation after you've been accepted to UIndy and prior to attending classes.
  • PROVIDE YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
Send your official college and high school transcripts once you have completed your degree to us by one of the following ways:
    • Ask Ivy Tech and your previous high school institution* to mail official transcripts to the University of Indianapolis, ATTN: Admissions Office, 1400 E Hanna Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227
    • Ask Ivy Tech and your previous high school institution* if it has an electronic transcript ordering system. Transcripts can be sent electronically to undergradtranscripts@uindy.edu.
    • Pick up your transcripts in person, and deliver them to UIndy at the address above. Please do not open the transcripts as they will be considered unofficial if open at the time of delivery.

*UIndy does not need your high school transcripts if you will have earned your associate's degree by the time you officially start classes with us.

It's important to become connected with UIndy's Stephen F. Fry Professional Edge Center (Pro Edge) right away. You're much closer to the real world and your professional career than our traditional freshmen students. As a Greyhound, you will receive support guidance from Pro Edge as you begin planning for internship opportunities during college and your professional career following graduation.
