Talent Showcase
The Global Languages Talent Showcase is the centerpiece of our spring semester, highlighting the incredible creativity and cultural richness of our UIndy community. Performances include poetry, music, storytelling, dance, and more, presented in a variety of languages. Audiences have enjoyed everything from classical works and world poetry to contemporary songs and traditional dance numbers. The showcase is free and open to the public. Following the event, guests are invited to a reception featuring international refreshments. The Global Languages Talent Showcase will be April 14, 2026 at 7:00 pm ET.
Senior Recognition
Each year, we take a moment during the showcase to recognize our graduating majors and minors in Global Languages. This tradition honors their hard work, achievements, and dedication to language and cultural studies while celebrating the next steps in their journey.
The Marga Meier Scholarship Award
The Marga Meier Global Language Scholarship, named in honor of German Professor Marga Meier, is awarded annually at the showcase to four students (one studying German, one studying French, and two studying Spanish) who are selected by faculty nomination who exemplify academic excellence, a strong commitment to language and cultural studies, and active participation in departmental activities and clubs. This award continues Professor Meier’s legacy of inspiring students to pursue their passion for languages both inside and outside the classroom.
