The Office of Grants & Sponsored Programs (GSP) supports faculty and staff at the University of Indianapolis (UIndy) in the acquisition and administration of contracts, cooperative agreements, grants, and other funding from external federal, state, governmental, and non-profit sponsors. These programs and projects are collectively referred to as "sponsored programs."
The GSP is committed to helping employees obtain external funding, develop proposals, administer awards, and comply with all applicable sponsor and institutional policies.
The GSP consists of 1 full-time coordinator and 1 part-time accountant.
Functions
- Aiding in the identification and interpretation of appropriate potential funding opportunities
- Interpreting proposal guidelines, as well as sponsor requirements for funding
- Providing guidance throughout the preparation of requests for funding
- Facilitating institutional approvals for external funding request submission
- Negotiating institutional acceptance of awards from external sponsors
- Providing direction in award management, including award modifications as allowable by sponsor
- Overseeing compliance with sponsored program policies as required by federal mandates
- Coordinating group and 1:1 education of faculty and staff in search of external funding
