The Center for Applied Health and Performance

Achieve your fitness goals.

Achieve your fitness goals at the Center for Applied Health and Performance! The Center, known as CAPS, is conveniently located on the second floor of Schwitzer Student Center in the heart of UIndy’s campus. CAPS allows students, faculty, and staff to identify their health and wellness goals, and then tap into University resources to achieve them.

CAPS brings pre-existing University health and wellness resources together in one centralized location–on the second floor of Schwitzer Student Center. You'll find state-of-the-art fitness equipment for anyone in our UIndy community who wants to work out, along with hands-on learning experiences and research opportunities.  With about 40 percent of UIndy graduates going on to work in a healthcare-related field, this space provides another hands-on learning experience for our students studying in our various health-related disciplines.

CAPS also provides a wide range of equipment to help you meet your fitness goals, including, but not limited to:

  • Free weights
  • Dumbbells
  • Kettlebells
  • Weight machines
  • Cardio equipment
  • Treadmills
  • Ellipticals
  • Recumbent bikes
  • Spin bikes
