Art & Design Scholarships

The Department of Art and Design offers scholarships annually to incoming freshman majoring in art and design. While you do not need to submit a portfolio of work to become an art and design major, you must submit a portfolio for faculty review to apply for a scholarship. Your portfolio should contain original works that illustrate a range of experiences.

How should I present my work?

Your work does not have to be framed, matted or mounted. The work itself is the most important aspect of your portfolio. If you are unable to bring originals of your work with you, please provide printed images or email digital images to art@uindy.edu.

What should I expect during my visit?

During your visit, you will share your portfolio with one or more faculty of the Department of Art & Design. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and take a tour of the department. Your portfolio will be digitally recorded to allow the entire department faculty to review your work at a later date.

What if I haven't yet been admitted to UIndy?

You are still welcome to attend Portfolio Days; however, you are not eligible to be awarded a scholarship until you have been admitted to the University. If you have questions regarding your admittance status, please contact the Office of Admissions at 317-788-3216.

Please call the Department of Art & Design at 317-788-3253 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment for one of our Portfolio Days. If you are unable to make an appointment, you may submit a digital portfolio by sending an email to art@uindy.edu with the attached images before the last Portfolio Day.
