How Do I Fund Study Abroad?

Eligibility to use federal and state financial aid will depend upon the specific program selected and a student’s individual circumstances. The Christel DeHaan Center for Global Engagement will work with you and the Office of Financial Aid to determine your eligibility after you select the study abroad program you would like to attend.

Internal Scholarships for study abroad

UIndy offers a range of scholarships to help make studying abroad more affordable and accessible.

The Fulmer Scholarship provides financial support to current University of Indianapolis undergraduate students who wish to study abroad and is primarily intended to support students with high financial need. Scholarship funding may cover some or all of the costs associated with a study abroad program for selected recipients. Funding is limited, and not all qualified applicants may receive an award.

More information about eligibility, recipient requirements, and the application process will be shared at the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester. Please check back then for additional details.

The YoungBlood Scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students participating in UIndy-approved study abroad experiences. The fund is intended to increase access to global learning opportunities by reducing financial barriers for eligible students.

More information about eligibility, recipient requirements, and the application process will be shared at the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester. Please check back then for additional details.

The Study Abroad Ambassador Incentive Grant provides up to $250 in financial support to students participating in a UIndy-approved faculty-led study abroad program who are willing to share their experiences through digital content and help promote international opportunities to the UIndy community. Please note that this grant is limited to one recipient per program.
