These policies are reflective of the current state of COVID in the area and are subject to further evaluation as necessary. Please keep in mind that these are UIndy policies, specific to our campus. If in the course of your studies you are in external settings (off-campus practicum locations, student teaching, healthcare clinicals, etc.) with additional requirements, you are responsible for complying with those additional requirements.
According to current CDC guidelines, an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 may end isolation after 5 days if he/she/they experienced no COVID-related symptoms. If the individual had symptoms and a positive test and the symptoms are improving, he/she/they may end isolation after day 5 if he/she/they is fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. If the individual tested positive and symptoms are not improving, the individual is advised to continue to isolate until a) he/she/they is fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication AND b) his/her/their symptoms are improving.
We recommend that you begin to wear a mask if you have a known exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID. The CDC also recommends getting tested on Day 6 after your exposure, even if you haven’t developed symptoms.
We will still have testing options available at the Health & Wellness Center for individuals that are symptomatic or need to test for clinical or other school or work related needs.
We no longer require or track covid vaccinations.
