Admissions Criteria for the Master of Science in Athletic Training Priority Admit Option
June 2027 start date
This application process is open to students with at least junior status (60-89 credits) at any institution who is projected to graduate with an undergraduate degree by June 2027.
- Applicants must be at a junior status at any regionally accredited institution.
- UIndy students who are early assurance can apply using this method and eliminate CAS application fees.
- Interested students must apply using the University of Indianapolis Application System between the dates of January 15 - May 1 of their junior year.
- Successful completion of the following prerequisite courses (with a ‘C’ or better) by time of application.
- Human Anatomy
- Human Physiology
- Chemistry (1 semester) or physics
- The remaining prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the start of the MSAT program. Admission will be contingent on the completion of all prerequisites with a C or better prior to the start of the program (June 2027).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation including one from an athletic trainer or health professional (preferred). Two additional letters must be from professional or academic source.
- Personal statement uploaded to applicant portal after application has been submitted.
- Observation hours: 50 hours of observation with certified athletic trainer or other sports medicine rehabilitation/healthcare provided is strongly recommended. As a priority admit applicant, we will accept these hours anytime prior to the start of the June 2027 start.
- Invited applicants will participate in an on-campus or virtual interview.
