The Embracing the Future Summit: Inspiring Tomorrow's Innovators Today
The Embracing the Future Summit will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2022. We are proud and excited to offer this great leadership training opportunity to the students of Indiana, and we're looking forward to seeing you there.
Registration
Registration for the Ballard Summit has closed.
Check-In
Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. (EST) in the Schwitzer Student Center Atrium. Directions and a campus map are located at map.uindy.edu. We suggest parking in Lot #14 and no parking pass will be necessary, as all lots are open parking on the weekends.
Upon arrival, participating students will be given a detailed schedule for the day (including which afternoon current event sessions they will attend) and an ID badge.
We invite parents, teachers and guidance counselors who arrive with students to join us for Mayor Ballard's Keynote address in the Schwitzer Student Center Atrium.
Schedule
Morning
Mayor Ballard will give the keynote address. After his keynote address, Mayor Ballard devotes time to a question and answer session with student participants.
Lunch and Photos with Mayor Ballard
A complimentary lunch is provided for all attendees and adults who accompany them in the Schwitzer Student Center.
Afternoon
Each participant will attend two afternoon sessions that last an hour each:
- Fail Fest - Setbacks are a natural part of any meaningful endeavor. No one knows this better than John Weschler, whose business provides a collaborative co-working space for high-impact entrepreneurs in his community. In this session, he seeks to change the failure culture by exploring its role in moving careers, companies, and communities forward.
- The College Experience with UIndy Bizhounds - Get to know current UIndy students who serve as a team within the University of Indianapolis School of Business that work to get freshmen studentsinvolved. They put on a multitude of different events that encourage students to get to know their peers as well as other student leaders within the School of Business that can serve as mentors for new freshmen.
The day's activities will conclude at 2:15 p.m. and students may be picked up at the Schwitzer Student Center where their last session will be located.
Once you have selected three sophomore students from your high school, please register them or ask them to register using the link below.
