The University of Indianapolis’s Masters of Science in Data Analytics program is pleased to announce a new partnership with Coursera, the leading online learning and career development platform.
Now UIndy business students can earn professional certifications from leading global organizations like Google, IBM, and Microsoft in every MSDA course.
In today’s competitive job market, it’s more important than ever for students to expand their skills and find ways to stand out. Industry micro-credentials, such as the professional certifications offered through Coursera and UIndy’s applied learning model, help students better market themselves to top employers. The credentials also allow hiring managers to validate an applicant’s skills quickly.
In fact, according to a 2023 Coursera survey, employers are 72% more likely to hire a candidate who has earned a micro-credential. Additionally, 88% of employers said professional certificates strengthen a candidate’s job application.
The UIndy School of Business is committed to equipping students for successful careers through its applied learning model. This program-level partnership–the first of its kind in the State of Indiana–is a testament to that model, linking the school’s skill-based applied learning to skills-based hiring.
INFORMs aCAP
UIndy’s School of Business is also excited to announce a new partnership with the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMs), the leading industry association of analytics and operations research professionals.
Through this collaboration, students in the University of Indianapolis’s Masters of Science in Data Analytics program will receive an Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP®) certification upon graduation without sitting for the aCAP exam.
The aCAP credential enables MSDA students to externally demonstrate proficiency in core analytics competencies–including data collection, data analysis, modeling, and communication–without sitting for an additional exam.
This partnership with INFORMS is another testament to the University of Indianapolis Business School’s commitment to applied learning. UIndy is one of the first universities to partner with INFORMS in offering this industry-validated credential, joining a cohort of leading institutions that include the University of South Carolina, Oklahoma State University, and Virginia Tech University.
