Ace

UIndy’s official AI chatbot!

The University of Indianapolis has officially launched an AI chatbot as a way to provide additional support to students.

What is Ace?

Ace is the official AI chatbot for the University of Indianapolis. This tool will help students navigate their journey at UIndy by answering questions and communicating important information more intentionally and promptly. Ace also enjoys hearing student feedback and creating a virtual community.

Ace will serve as a resource for questions and will connect students to support services and information regarding:

  • Academics
  • Financial Matters
  • Student Life and Involvement Activities
  • Mental and Physical Health and Overall Wellbeing
  • And so much more!

Ace will continue to learn about our student body through text exchanges and proactively engage with students regularly throughout the semester to keep them informed and connected throughout their time at UIndy.

Why Ace?

Ace is UIndy’s costume greyhound mascot, and we are bringing Ace to life as a chatbot! UIndy’s official live mascot, Grady, will coordinate with the Ace chatbot to continue to help UIndy students in every way possible.

How Does Ace Help Students?

Ace initiates conversations with students regularly throughout each semester to understand any issues they face. From their sense of belonging to working a full-time job outside the classroom, these conversations aim to connect them to resources and UIndy staff members available to help.

Ace will respond 24/7 to any student-initiated questions about UIndy. For example, students can text Ace, "How do I apply for scholarships?" or "What are the counseling center hours?" to get the help they need.

Take Charge of Your Well-Being at UIndy

Ace will send an introductory text message to every new student. (Students may need to update their cell phone number to chat with Ace.) Once that first text is received, add Ace to your contacts, and feel free to ask questions about UIndy at any time!

If you have questions about this chatbot or receive any questions from students, please contact the Phil and Janet Terry Center at theterrycenter@uindy.edu.
