Service Learning in the Curriculum
UIndy's motto, "Education for Service," is deeply embedded in the entire nursing curriculum. Our programs combine scholarship with service, and you'll find many service learning components in the projects you'll complete in your courses, along with a variety of service opportunities available in underserved areas and in clinical assignments.
Service Projects
Our faculty and students collaborate on a wide variety of service projects each year. While some are part of the curriculum for particular courses, others take volunteers from throughout the school. Examples of regular service projects include:
- Raising money for local non-profits and service organizations
- Serving meals at a homeless shelter
