Tuition & Scholarships the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
Tuition
Students in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy program are charged a flat rate per semester (Fall, Winter, and Summer). For 2025-26, the total flat rate for Fall and Winter is $34,114 ($17,057 each semester). The summer flat tuition rate is $9,196. The total tuition cost is $43,310.
In addition, students will be assessed a general service fee:
- Full-time: $1,560/year ($780/semester)
- Part-time: $944/year ($472/semester)
- Summer: $88
Additional estimated costs will include:
- Certified Background Portal Fee, Background Check and Drug Screen (one-time fee prior to starting the program): $115
- University Professional Liability Fee: $50/year
- Textbooks/Supplies: $1,500 total for years 1-3
- ExamSoft fee*: $64/year
- Student APTA membership fees: $90/year (optional after first year)
All expenses, including tuition and fees, are subject to change annually.
Additional expenses may be incurred (travel, food, lodging, additional background check or health requirements), depending on the clinical education location.
*A computer that meets ExamSoft/Examplify expectations is required.
DPT Program Scholarship Opportunities
The Dean of the College of Health Sciences awards financial aid scholarships annually to select DPT students based on academic merit. No separate application is needed to be considered for this award.
Students in the DPT program are also invited to apply for graduate assistantships that provide a 20-25% tuition credit in exchange for 120-150 hours of work per semester within the department.
Additional Physical Therapy Scholarship Opportunities
This scholarship was created by Krannert School of Physical Therapy faculty, staff and alumni in honor of Sally Hyde and Pat Humbles for their service to the KSPT. Sally and Pat were long-term administrative assistants, known for their unconditional support and love for students. This scholarship is awarded to students in the DPT and PTA programs.
