Sociology Internship & Career Opportunities

Sociology students graduate with more than just a classroom education. Internship (practicum) experiences are required in the major. We have partnerships with a wide variety of organizations throughout the city, so you'll have every opportunity to gain experience in your areas of interest and build relationships with professionals in the field. Below is a sample of the many places our students have had internship and practicum experience.

BA in Sociology, Class of 2017

The skills I built through doing research at UIndy go well beyond research realm for professional sociologists. The ability to critically analyze social phenomena is very instrumental for many meaningful careers (such as data analysts, investment bankers, social workers, health care providers, consultants and etc.), and the research experience at UIndy can be very helpful to prepare students to develop the skills for various professions.
