Get to Know Grady

Grady's ID card

Grady the Greyhound might be the fastest dog in Indianapolis. As a racer, he was known to reach speeds of 70 km per hour within 30 meters! Now, he’s happy to take casual walks around campus with time to stop and smell the flowers, or the trees, or the bushes. Grady also represents one of two greyhounds to serve as collegiate live mascots for any college or university in the country!

Grady is a sighthound, which means he can see far into the distance (campus squirrels, beware!). He’s a really fast thinker with a good sense of humor, which may have something to do with the fact that he was born on April Fool’s Day.

Grady's handler is Coran Sigman '14, '21 (sociology/communications). She also serves as a Marketing and Communications Manager and has been employed at the University of Indianapolis since 2014. Thank you to Coran, and her husband, Seth Sigman '16, for opening up their home and hearts to Grady.

  • Make the most out of your experience at UIndy! Get involved, ask for help, take a chance on something new.
  • When in doubt, take a nap!
