Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program
The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is a traditional classroom and laboratory program. Classes take place on the UIndy campus weekdays. In addition to the standard curriculum, students may choose to complete 6 credit hours of electives from one of two tracks:
The Research track allows a student to participate in a faculty-designed and advised research project. The student will assist with proposal development; data collection; analysis of findings; and dissemination of findings, which may include a peer-reviewed publication or presentation at a professional conference.
Professional Development Track
The Professional Development Track allows students to further their professional development by exploring an area of practice or by better understanding an interdisciplinary team approach to care. This is accomplished through interdisciplinary coursework and/or independent study arranged with a faculty advisor.
The DPT program is a 3-year program, which includes summer commitments.
Tuition per semester is $13,995, totaling $27,990 for Semesters I and II for the 2017-18 school year. Tuition for the Summer semester is $7,544. Students can expect additional charges for background checks, textbooks, professional liability fees, travel and housing expenses for clinical rotations, and other requirements.
When can I start?
Applications for the DPT program are due each year by October 1. Accepted students will begin their DPT studies the following August.
