Poster presentations are graphical representations of research. Posters may include graphs, high quality photos, tables, figures, diagrams, and text. All posters should have adequate section headings, such as an Introduction/Background, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections.

  1. Timing: Poster presentations will be hosted in a formal setting during 60-minute sessions.
    1. Poster presenters must be present next to their poster to discuss their work with attendees.
    2. Poster presenters should arrive at their poster 10 minutes before the session begins.
    3. Poster presenters should stay for the entire session to address all questions. 
    4. Time and session number will be provided to all presenters at least 1 week before the Scholars Showcase. If you are a student and your presentation time conflicts with a class, notify your instructor. If a written excuse is needed, please contact scholarsshowcase@uindy.edu.
  2. Moderator: Each poster presentation session will have a few facilitating moderators. Moderators will maintain the flow of the room.
  3. Poster Formatting & Dimensions:
    1. Posters should be completed, saved, and submitted using Microsoft PowerPoint.
      • You may use one of three poster templates or create your own. However, your poster must be 36 inches [height] x 48 inches [width] with a minimum of 1 inch margins.
        • Once you have added your data, you must convert the .pptx template to a .pdf. Posters will be horizontally oriented.
        • While no audiovisual equipment will be available, presenters may bring printed handouts to supplement your poster and to provide to attendees.
      • Use high-resolution images for best visual results (300 dpi).
    2. All student poster presenters must have their posters reviewed by their faculty advisor PRIOR to submitting them.
    3. Poster printing information will be sent by the Scholars Showcase Committee upon acceptance in mid-March 2025. Please be attentive to your UIndy email.
  4. Submitting Your Poster:
    1. In the acceptance letter, you will receive a link to a form. You will use this form to submit your poster in .pdf format (the link will be provided once the application is accepted) by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025. This is the last possible date to submit to guarantee that your poster will arrive by Scholars Showcase.
    2. All supplies to present your poster will be available on-site the day of the Scholars Showcase.

Arts performance presentations allow you to present your scholarship using a creative art expression format. Performances are intended to present creative work in music, theater, and creative writing, including but not limited to genres such as musical performances, readings, dramatic interpretations, or multi-media productions. Explanatory text should be kept to a minimum.

  1. Timing: Performances will be hosted in a variety of sessions and venues.
    1. Performers must deliver their performance during their assigned time slot.
      • Performers should arrive 10 minutes before the session begins.
    2. Performers should plan to stay for the entire session to address any questions.
    3. Time and session number will be provided to all presenters at least 1 week before the Scholars Showcase. If you are a student and your presentation time conflicts with a class, notify your instructor. If a written excuse is needed, please contact scholarsshowcase@uindy.edu.
  2. Moderator: Some performance sessions may have a facilitating moderator. 
    1. Moderators will introduce performers and maintain the flow of the performances.
    2. Moderators will provide performers with a warning when 1 minute is left for the performance.
  3. Format: 
    1. Format/times may vary depending on the nature of the performance. Space is limited.
    2. Performers should provide details of their work as appropriate (e.g., a short description of their work or composer and title of work to be performed).
  4. Submitting Your Presentation:
    1. Performance submission process information will be sent by the Scholars Showcase Committee upon acceptance in mid-March 2025. Please be attentive to your UIndy email.
    2. Submit your brief description and performance format in a typed Word document by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025.
    3. At the end of the document, performers must provide information on any equipment requests or needs. If not requested in the document, it may not be guaranteed.
