New Student Orientation

Helping students transition to college

The University of Indianapolis has several events and programs to introduce new students and their families to UIndy and to help students make a smooth transition to college life.

First-year and transfer students will select a New Hounds Orientation Day upon paying their deposit. New Hounds Days are designed to help new students and their guests get connected to the resources and supports available to them as members of our Greyhound family!

First-Year New Hounds Orientation Days

We are so excited that you will be joining our pack this fall! To help you get connected to the university and learn a little more about the resources you will have access to as a Greyhound we have designed an interactive orientation experience to guide you through the coming months. Be sure to build your connections as you move through each step of the journey!

New Greyhounds will interact with current UIndy students and staff to learn a host of important information including:

  • How to access and pay bills

  • Where to go for academic support

  • What health & counseling resources are available

  • How to use and troubleshoot IT issues

  • What the UIndy bookstore has to offer

  • How to get involved on campus and connected to student life activities

  • What faith-based services are available on-campus

  • How families can best help their students in their transition to college

  • And much more!

Transfer Students

These programs are designed to help support students who have already studied at another college/university. Our New Hounds Transfer Orientation will provide new students with relevant information they will need to be successful, during their time at UIndy.

Move-in & Welcome Week

These programs are designed to help support students who have chosen to travel from another country to study at UIndy. Not only will students get to learn about our community, but they will have meaningful opportunities to engage with current UIndy faculty, staff, and students.
