RESIDENCE HALLS & APARTMENTS
Living on campus is the best way to connect to your university, your classmates, and your city. UIndy has six residence halls and three campus apartment buildings, so you’ll find the perfect space to call home. The majority of incoming first-year students live on campus. Plus, all first-year halls have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and laundry!
LIVING-LEARNING COMMUNITIES
Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) are immersive-learning experiences designed to bring students with common academic interests or identities
together for heightened intellectual and social success. UIndy currently houses seven LLCs: Business, Engineering, Global Scholars, Honors, Nursing, Stonewall Suites, and Umoja Scholars.

Steps to Success

At UIndy, we work every day to create a supportive and empowering environment where you can feel confident in your education. Below are steps to success to help you feel as prepared as possible for the first day of classes!
- Complete your UIndy application.
You can apply to UIndy on our website or via the CommonApp. You will also be assigned an admissions counselor, who can guide you along the journey from submitting your application to attending Welcome Week. - Submit your transcript.
Share your current high school transcript with UIndy. - Visit campus.
Schedule a visit — and experience UIndy in action! Plan your day using our interactive map. - Join the UIndy Community on ZeeMee.
Connect with your peers, participate in live events, find your roommate and more! - File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The process opens in the fall of the year prior to your first day of class. UIndy's code for the FAFSA is 001804. - Review your financial aid offer.
Your offer will be sent after we receive your FAFSA information. Your admissions counselor will be available to walk you through it. - Pay your deposit.
The enrollment deposit fee ($200) will help you secure your spot at UIndy. Submit your deposit early to receive priority housing placement. - Claim your UIndy account.
You will need your login account to receive important information throughout the enrollment process. - Complete your housing application.
You can do this in your New Student portal beginning in February. - Register for New Hounds Day.
During this mandatory on-campus orientation, you will meet fellow students and get all of your questions answered before you start classes. There will be several New Hounds Day orientation dates to choose from. - Complete your placement assessments and exams.
Placement assessments and exams are necessary to place you into the math, global language and/or English classes that are right for you. - Submit your final transcripts.
Send us official copies of your high school and any dual credit or AP transcripts to finalize your fall schedule. - Receive your housing assignment.
You will find out your room assignment — and your roommate! — in the summer. - Pay your bill.
You will receive your bill in early July. Payment plans are available. - Move in!
Your UIndy portal will have all of the details for Move-in Day! - Attend Welcome Week.
