Wall of Fame

The Communication Department’s Wall of Fame recognizes alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who have exhibited ongoing excellence and made outstanding contributions to the department or their chosen communication profession. Inductees will be honored at an annual induction ceremony and with a plaque displayed in Esch Hall.
To Make a Nomination
Email the Department of Communication Chair Dr. Stephanie Wideman (widemans@uindy.edu) to receive a nomination form.
Supporting materials are not required, but may include letters of recommendation, nominee’s resume and links to portfolio or work samples.
Selection Criteria and deadlines
Alumni: To qualify for the Wall of Fame, a University of Indianapolis graduate must have:
- Been a graduate for at least seven years.
- Been a communication major or significant contributor as a member of the Speech and Debate Team, The Reflector, Top Dog Communication, UIndy TV, or WICR Radio while a student.
- Represented UIndy as a distinguished member of their respective field and received some level of (local, regional, or national) professional or service recognition.
Faculty/Staff: To qualify as a Wall of Fame faculty or staff member, the nominee must have exemplified the ideals of the university and served in the best interest of the Communication Department. The award honors an individual whose positive impact has enriched or advanced students, colleagues, the UIndy community, and/or the academic discipline.
Friends: To qualify for induction into the Wall of Fame, a friend of the communication department must have provided outstanding contributions to the department (over a period of a years) and exhibited unparalleled dedication, loyalty, and commitment to the University of Indianapolis.
Nomination forms are due annually by March 1. Nominations remain under consideration for future years – there is no need to re-submit a nomination annually for those not selected when originally nominated.
Inductees are chosen by a majority vote of Communication Department faculty.
