Notes
- A grade of B- (2.7 on a 4.0 scale) or higher is required in all courses applying toward the History MA. A final cumulative UIndy graduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher is required for completion of the degree. Examinations and Thesis (HIST 589, 590, and 595) are graded on a Pass/Fail basis.
- With approval from the Program Director, up to 9 credits of transfer work may be counted toward the History MA degree. Only graduate courses in History with a grade of B- or higher will be considered for transfer credit.
- With approval from the Program Director, up to two courses from other UIndy graduate programs may be counted toward the History MA degree. These courses must be in a discipline (such as International Relations or English) that is immediately related to the program of graduate History coursework being pursued by the student.
- Regardless of track(s) pursued, transfer work accepted, and/or courses accepted from other disciplines, students must complete at least 36 credits in order to earn the degree. For students admitted directly into the History MA from the UIndy History BA under the 4+1 option and pursuing the Thesis Track, HIST589 may be waived if the MA thesis is on a topic directly related to the student’s HIST475 undergraduate capstone paper topic.
