Background
Dr. Welch is a licensed school psychologist in Indiana, as well as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). She has taught assessment and intervention courses for general and special education teachers, drawing on her experience in public-schools and as the co-author of Engaging Exceptional Students: A Primer for Collaboration and Positive Classroom Management. She also works in a private practice, focusing on comprehensive evaluations and therapeutic interventions for neurodiverse children and adults.
Research Interests
Students with disabilities and the school to prison pipeline (STPP), the role general education teachers play in the STPP, school discipline in correctional confinement and public-school settings, and transition for students in correctional confinement to community settings
