FAQs about Student Leadership Academy (Summer Session)

Check-in time is 6:00 PM on Sunday.  Check-out time is 8:30 AM on Saturday.

When you arrive on campus, check-in will be located within the Schwitzer Student Center near the McCleary Chapel.

We ask that students be fully committed to the program for the duration of the week.

Students will be chaperoned by UIndy staff members, and UIndy undergraduate students who are trained for this event. UIndy students will serve as dorm chaperones and facilitators of small groups. The Director of the Lantz Center will be directing and leading this event.

The Student Leadership Academy is designed for students who have a passion to develop their spiritual lives and seek God’s voice. If your child wants to attend, they can apply for SLA.

SLA will begin with an opening service on Sunday evening at 7:00 PM in the McCleary Chapel.  Parents are welcome to participate in this time of worship and introduction to the week.  On Saturday morning, a short closing program (including doughnuts, coffee, and juice) will be provided to parents beginning at 8:30 am. Parents are encouraged to interact with their children during the week through text messages or telephone calls. During the week, you can follow the group on Facebook - UIndy  - SLA Summer Session.

The registration fee covers all program activities, all meals (from Monday morning to Saturday morning), a program notebook, t-shirt, and more. For participants desiring to fly to the event, transportation to and from the Indianapolis airport can be arranged through contacting the Director of the Lantz Center.

The camp fee is not refundable, and is not transferable.

Student Leadership Academy is designed for high school students - whether they will have completed their freshman year, or will be graduating from high school.

UIndy does not want finances to be a barrier for students to participate.  If you are in need of a scholarship to attend, please contact the Director of the Lantz Center.

If you enjoyed SLA in the fall, you will thrive in our summer program.  Besides being much longer, SLA - Summer Session goes deeper into the theological questions of vocation, and involves personal evaluations. Our summer programs includes activities (on and off campus), service opportunities, and exposes you to community life on campus.
