UIndy's Gender Center
Resources that empower our campus and surrounding communitiesThe Gender Center fosters dialogue and action to advance understanding of gender equity. This innovative center serves to challenge simplistic binaries to consider the complexities of gender, gender identity, sex, and sexual orientation (as well as intersectionality through ethnicity, class, nationality, etc.) through dynamic and meaningful programming.
The Center empowers, advocates, and promotes gender equity by supporting research and education, serving as a connector for resources; and nurturing and cultivating intentional partnerships and relationships.
What we can do for our university community:
- On the basis of resource availability, we can support gender-related campus events and programming. Examples of support may include: event messaging and dissemination, limited funds, and various other resources
- Identify and connect resources around the campus supporting gender equity and awareness
- Support research focusing on the amplification of gender issues on and off-campus
What we can do for our broader community:
- Create meaningful partnerships, related to gender equity awareness, between your organization and our campus resources
- Connect you with experts actively researching the theory and implementation of gender equity advocacy
