Graduate School at UIndy
Deciding to attend graduate school is a big decision! UIndy is here to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
As an admitted graduate student, your graduate admissions counselor will work closely with you to ensure you are as prepared as possible to obtain your graduate degree.
Many interested and admitted graduate students come to campus to have a tour and shadow a class.
Key Steps to Enrollment Success
Once you have made the decision to officially become a Greyhound, you will want to take the below steps to enroll:
Claim your UIndy account to gain access to areas of My UIndy requiring a login, UIndy email, Brightspace online learning system, online library resources, and more.
Log into the UIndy billing system to complete the following:
- Check your balance and make payments.
- Add authorized users.
- Enroll and manage payment plans.
- View and print your bill.
Once you have claimed and set up your UIndy account, you will find a list of items you will want to complete in UIndy's student portal or in an email from your graduate program director. Some programs require that you complete an orientation form before beginning classes. Be sure to monitor your UIndy student email account for other important information and required action items from your graduate program director.
The UIndy campus is located on the south side of Indianapolis and only 10 minutes from downtown! If you are interested in living on campus, UIndy has three (3) different on-campus housing options for graduate students:

Today's graduate students are transformed into tomorrow's leaders through professional opportunities and community connections.
Depending on your graduate program, there may be on-campus employment/assistantship opportunities available. Please reach out to your graduate program director or counselor to learn more.
UIndy’s Hounds Connect service platform allows students to find, track, and store their service hours. Students can track their service hours for service learning courses, registered student organizations, and individual use, and to be shown on official UIndy transcripts. Students may also search through various service opportunities posted by community partners in Indianapolis.
UIndy has more than 70 student clubs and organizations. There is a wide variety of options, including academic, intramural/club sports, and cultural organizations. If you do not see a club or organization that fits your interests, many students start their own.
UIndy’s Office of Student Affairs hosts several events and activities throughout the school year. Each week, students receive an email with the fun, upcoming events and activities. Some of these include UIndy’s favorite traditions, such as Midnight Breakfast and Spring Ball.
The university also has 25 NCAA Division II sports teams. All students receive free admission with their student ID to on-campus sporting events and music/art performances
The UIndy campus is only 10 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. Many of our graduate students find fun and fulfilling activities as well as meaningful friendships and community to get involved in during their time here. The campus's location also allows easy access to internships, networking, and volunteer opportunities.

Campus Resources & Support
As a UIndy student, you will have access to a wide variety of resources to help you meet your academic, professional, health, and other personal goals!
The UIndy Bookstore is where you can purchase course materials and UIndy merch/swag!
The Krannert Memorial Library is a campus destination with access to knowledgeable librarians, excellent information resources, and a variety of educational technologies. The library also offers private and group study rooms that students can reserve.
The UIndy Writing Lab, located in the Krannert Memorial Library, offers help with research proposals, theses, dissertations, and course essay assignments. Graduate students may schedule in-person and online appointments, with evening and weekend appointments available.
UIndy has several career coaches at the Stephen F. Fry Professional Edge Center (Pro Edge) who are here to help prepare you for your career beyond graduate school. The Pro Edge Center offers skills training, one-on-one coaching, document review, interview practice, and internship and career planning.
The Health & Wellness Center offers typical primary care services for all UIndy students. The center has three full-time nurse practitioners and one part-time physician to provide care. A Health Coach is also available to offer wellness and fitness programs.
Being a graduate student can be stressful. The Counseling Center can help you navigate the stress of transitioning to graduate school and other mental health matters you may face. They offer a variety of resources, including individual counseling appointments, groups, and workshops specifically designed for graduate students. Non-therapy consultations and referral services for graduate students living out-of-state are also available.
The UIndy Food Pantry is here to help should you encounter unexpected financial difficulty. The pantry provides non-perishable food items to all students needing assistance on a first-come, first-served basis.
Like all students, graduate students with documented disabilities may be eligible for services and accommodations in compliance with the American Disabilities Act. The Office of Disability Services can assist you with establishing eligibility for services.
UIndy’s Office of Inclusive Excellence can connect you with registered student organizations, services, and resources that promote a welcoming environment for all members of the Greyhound family. This includes Title IX and sexual misconduct policies and procedures for reviewing, investigating, and resolving complaints.
