  • MBA 528 – Business Foundations for Healthcare Entrepreneurs (3 cr hr)
    Introduces core business principles for healthcare professionals launching independent ventures. Topics include business foundations and ethics, accounting and budgeting, marketing, negotiation, legal and tax considerations, human resource management, and best practices in business operations. Using a case study approach, students analyze real-world entrepreneurial scenarios to develop financial literacy, ethical judgment, and practical decision-making skills necessary for sustaining owner-operated healthcare businesses.
  • HSCI 530 – Healthcare Entrepreneurship and Practice Management Principles (3 cr hr)
    Builds upon core business principles and applies them in the context of healthcare ventures. Topics include regulatory and legal considerations, resources for business development, payment models for healthcare services, marketing and referral stream cultivation, and space and real estate considerations. Using a case study approach, students analyze real-world entrepreneurial scenarios to further develop the decision-making skills necessary for sustaining owner-operated healthcare businesses.
  • HSCI 532 – Applied Healthcare Entrepreneurship and Business Capstone (3 cr hr)
    Applies learning from the prior two courses to the development of a full entrepreneurial venture and business model within healthcare. Students develop a regulatory-informed business proposal, create a budget and fiscal plan, design a marketing strategy and referral stream, and submit a complete business plan for peer review and instructor feedback.

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Official transcripts for your highest degree earned from a regionally accredited institution, from the conferring university, or an electronic service (such as Parchment or Student Clearinghouse), demonstrating a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
