About the Nurse Educator Certificate Track

The Nurse Educator Certificate is also designed for the clinician who is interested in teaching in nursing education but has not had the formal preparation in their prior nursing coursework. These credits may be applied to an MSN in the Nurse Educator track if the student decides to continue with graduate education.

Track Length & Format

The Nurse Educator certificate track is nine credit hours. These credits can be applied to an MSN in Nursing Education if you decide to continue on to a master's degree program.

The entire certificate track can be completed online. Courses are not self-paced; there are weekly assignments, along with papers and projects due throughout the semester. Students should plan to spend approximately four hours per week, per credit hour on readings, learning exercises, team projects, class discussion and library work.

Technology Requirements

Students will be required to have technology that is compatible with the required computerized testing platform software. Please see the IT Help Page for requirements needed for Windows and MAC OS computers. Chromebooks will not meet the technology requirements for the School of Nursing.
