If you are planning to enroll and you have paid your tuition deposit, you will be contacted by the Office of Admissions to schedule your New Hounds Day.

Is Attending New Hounds Days mandatory?

Yes. All new, first-year students are required to attend one New Hounds Day. This day is mandatory because students meet with an academic advisor to review their materials and build connections with professionals on UIndy's campus. Students will also receive their UIndy student ID on this day.

New Hounds Day Schedule

New Hounds Day consists of a full day of activities and meetings for both new students and family members. Be sure to check in on time. The program will conclude at 4 p.m., with lunch provided. Special sessions are planned for both students and their guests. Sessions will cover important topics, including your tuition bill, financial aid, curriculum requirements and more.

Check-in & Parking

Check-in for Registration Days will take place in Krannert Memorial Library. Please see the campus map for parking options. While all of the campus parking lots are open to visitors during the summer, parking lots 3, 5, and 6 are conveniently located next to the library. To park in these lots, enter campus from Shelby Street, just north of Hanna Avenue. When you arrive on campus, look for the New Hounds signs and staff to direct you.

A Guide for New Students and Families

At your New Hounds Day, you will receive a copy of the New Hound Guide. This booklet includes important information — including lots of action items — you'll need to review and do before summer is over.

Fast Facts

Students should bring any financial documents that still need to be submitted. Casual dress, comfortable shoes and UIndy Greyhound attire are encouraged!

Please note: Students will have their UIndy Student ID picture taken while they are here.

Students will not receive their hall assignment or roommate assignment until July. These assignments will be sent through the mail and will include roommate contact information. However, students and family members will be able to tour first-year buildings at the end of their New Hounds Day programs.

Textbooks are not available for purchase during New Hounds Day Orientation. UIndy has a new partnership with Barnes & Noble College. More information from the UIndy bookstore will be available at orientation to explain how to purchase books for the Fall semester.
