University of Indianapolis Welcome Week
Welcome Week is a fun week designed to help you make a successful transition to college, meet new friends and connect with the University before classes start. Events and programming are meant for new, incoming first-year students and new transfer students. By working with Orientation Leaders, you will have an opportunity to learn about the social and academic life of our University community. Some components of Welcome Week have required attendance, so be sure to plan ahead.
Welcome Week begins with Convocation, the official welcome to the first-year class. Convocation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. in Nicoson Hall.
Arriving for Welcome Week
Residence hall students*
Students who will be living on campus will move in on Wednesday, August 20, based on their hall assignments and last names.
Students should report directly to their assigned residence hall and follow the directions of Residence Life staff members to check in. Please review the move-in email and follow all of the guidelines to ensure the safety of our Greyhound community.
* All bills must be paid (or payment arrangements made) prior to moving into the residence halls.
Commuter students
You will check in at the Information Desk in Schwitzer Student Center between noon and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20. At check-in, you will receive a copy of the Welcome Week schedule, obtain your meal vouchers, and engage with your Orientation Leaders.
Family members & guests
Family members and guests are encouraged to attend UIndy's convocation ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. in Nicoson Hall. This is the first large-scale event for the incoming class, and helps welcome all students and families into the UIndy community.
Families moving a student to campus should follow the guidelines in their move-in email to ensure the safety of our Greyhound community.
