UIndy Parking: Frequently Asked Questions

Parking is free at UIndy for students, employees, and visitors. Students and employees receive a permit sticker, good for one academic year, and need to have the permit displayed on their vehicle at all times to avoid being issued a ticket.

Depending on your designation (as a student, faculty or staff), you are assigned a lot. Typically spaces are available in your designated lot. Understandably there is a high demand for parking during the first few weeks of campus and/or during major events. View and print parking designations maps.

Please make sure you are in the appropriate lot based on your permit sticker or guest status to avoid receiving a ticket.

If you have a handicap parking permit, you can park in a handicap space no matter the lot designation. Please make sure the handicap permit is clearly displayed on your vehicle.

Parking designations are assigned to keep you close to the buildings you frequent most and to align with traffic flow and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The assignments align with traffic, parking and safety recommended by industry experts as well as the work of the University’s parking working group.

Please address your concerns to uindyparking@uindy.edu or call 317-788-3386.

  • Parking assignments are observed 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Parking is open in all lots on weekends and outside of these hours during the week (with the exception of yellow curbs, reserved and ADA spaces).

*Please note: Spaces reserved for specific individuals and time zones are enforced 24/7/365. Vehicles may also be ticketed or towed for blocking a roadway or not being in a marked parking space.
