The University of Indianapolis has several events and programs to introduce new students and their families to UIndy and to help students make a smooth transition to college life. The two main components of Orientation are Summer Registration Days and Welcome Week; however, UIndy also provides Winter Orientation for students who begin their college career mid-year.
Winter Orientation, held Jan. 17, 2016, serves as the mid-year orientation session for new students, including transfer students. This Sunday afternoon session is designed to acquaint you with your new campus and the many opportunities available to you. New students must register to attend!
Summer Registration is the first phase of new student orientation at UIndy. Students are assigned a registration day once they pay the tuition and/or housing deposit. During Summer Registration, students will take placement exams, meet with their academic advisors and register for their classes.
Welcome Week starts with Move-In Day and continues to the first day of classes. This activity-filled week helps students get acquainted with UIndy and each other and gets their college experience off to a good start.
After students have had a few weeks to settle in, UIndy will host a Family Day in September for parents and family members to make a visit! Past Family Day events have included Greyhound football games, arts events and other campus activities.
