New Student Orientation

The University of Indianapolis has several events and programs to introduce new students and their families to UIndy and to help students make a smooth transition to college life. The two main components of Orientation are Summer Registration Days and Welcome Week.

Summer Registration Days—During these one-day events, students and families participate in several orientation activities, including placement testing, class registration and information sessions about many aspects of college life.

Welcome Week—The week begins with Move-In Day for new students and includes several days of activities to help new students acclimate to life at UIndy.

During Summer Registration, students take placement exams, meet with academic advisors and register for classes

Summer Registration

Summer Registration is the first phase of new student orientation at UIndy. Students are assigned a registration day once they pay the tuition and/or housing deposit. During Summer Registration, students will take placement exams, meet with their academic advisors and register for their classes.

Welcome Week

Welcome Week starts with Move-In Day and continues to the first day of classes. This activity-filled week helps students get acquainted with UIndy and each other and gets their college experience off to a good start.
