Background

Dr. Borrero has taught as a faculty member in higher education since 2012. She currently teaches in both the Doctor of Health Science and Master of Aging Studies programs at UIndy. She teaches courses Psychology of Aging, Development and Evaluation and Qualitative Research Methods and Analysis, and Research Skills Development, among others. She is activity involved in the Gerontological Society of America, including its education section, the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education.

Background

Dr. Bates has two decades of experience as a physical therapist in hospital ambulatory and private practice (general orthopedics), including additional experiences in clinic management, acute care, skilled rehabilitation facilities, and home health. He is a Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist and a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults. Dr Bates also has more than a decade of teaching experience in physical therapy education (PTA and DPT), including experiences as program director and clinical education director, as well as additional teaching experiences in occupational therapy. He has published and presented at international, national, and state conferences on topics of interprofessional and interprofessional education, online pedagogy, and older adult community wellness programming. In 2019, he was awarded the FA Davis Outstanding Physical Therapist Assistant Educator Award by the APTA.

Background

Dr. Gahimer has received numerous recognitions for her role in community leadership and service learning. She has presented at many international, national and local professional meetings in the areas of service learning, health and wellness, and instructional design for online learning. In addition, she has authored multiple publications in the areas of patient education and community health education. She was named University of Indianapolis Teacher of the Year in 2012.

Dr. Gerzina has extensive expertise in teaching health professions students in a variety of areas including statistics, research design, interprofessional education related to mental health and the healthcare of older adults, simulation methodology including standards of best practice and human performance-based assessment, humanism in healthcare and professional development. She has published her work in journals and book chapters and presented regionally, nationally, and internationally in her areas of expertise.

Dr. Moore has over a decade of experience in teaching research methods and statistics both online and face-to-face. Her passion and love in academia is teaching research methods, biostatistics, and mentoring individuals through the research process.

Dr. Noureldin is a researcher and educator with training and experience in both pharmacy and gerontology. She is also a board-certified geriatric pharmacist. Dr. Noureldin values service and is actively involved in several professional organizations.

Dr. Stith has over a decade of experience as an occupational therapist, working in both pediatrics and geriatrics in Inpatient, outpatient, acute care, and rehab settings. She has published qualitative research, particularly in the therapy realm, and presented at several state-level conferences.
