Recognitions & Awards

The CSLCE presents awards for outstanding service-learning and outstanding volunteerism to both undergraduate and graduate students. An award for outstanding community partner also is presented annually.

President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

The University of Indianapolis has been selected for the 2010 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service. The Honor Roll recognizes higher education institutions that reflect the values of exemplary community service and achieve meaningful outcomes in their communities. UIndy's selection to the Honor Roll is recognition from the highest levels of the federal government of UIndy's commitment to service and civic engagement on campus and in the nation.

Community Engagement Classification

The University of Indianapolis was re-selected for the 2020 Community Engagement Re-Classification from The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. UIndy is one of only 369 institutions that hold this distinctive classification. Being a recipient of the Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation documents UIndy's excellent alignment among mission, culture, leadership, resources, and practices that support dynamic and noteworthy community engagement.
