UIndy Registration Information
Registration for Semester I, 2026-2027 will begin on Monday, March 2, 2026. Below are the dates and times registration will be available for each student group:
- Monday, March 2, 2026 at 7:00 AM EST - Seniors, Graduate/Doctoral, and Accelerated Adult Programs
- Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 7:00 AM EST - Juniors
- Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 7:00 AM EST - Sophomores
- Friday, March 6, 2026 at 7:00 AM EST - Freshmen
Information for Semesters I & II
Conditions for Registration
- You are expected to register for yourself, but if you are unable to do so, you should contact your academic advisor in advance of registration for instructions about an alternative process.
- Students with registration holds will not be allowed to register. [Check student info on the MyUIndy website to determine if you have any holds. Be sure to resolve any hold(s) prior to registration.]
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students will register online during the designated registration periods based on their registration classification.
Adult Learning Programs/Accelerated Students
Accelerated students may register online for accelerated courses. If you have questions about registration or need advisement on course selections, please contact us at (317) 788-3393.
Graduate Students
For graduate registration, please contact the appropriate graduate program office for more information.
Course Changes, Drop/Add
Students may make schedule changes online, in person with their advisor or in the Office of the Registrar, Esch 131. All schedule changes must be submitted by the Drop/Add/Change to Audit deadline each term. Any adds to schedules after the deadline will not be applied, and any drops from courses after the deadline will be recorded as a W (withdrawal) on the academic transcript.

Waitlists
You may elect to be placed on a waitlist for a closed class. Students may do this in the online registration interface by submitting a selected CRN for a course and selecting Wait List from the drop-down menu.

Undergraduate Advising
The University advising system is designed with students in mind; therefore, every attempt is made to give students information and guidance that will ensure academic success. Faculty advisors and academic advisors are available to provide information and advice regarding academic issues and scheduling.

- Access Your Student Record
- Select the registration term from the drop-down menu
- Your primary advisor(s) will be listed in the top section
Course Level & Numbering System
- Courses numbered 001-099: Specialty undergraduate courses
- Courses numbered 100-299: Lower division undergraduate courses
- Courses numbered 300-499: Upper division undergraduate courses
- Courses numbered 500 and up: Graduate level courses
Course Instructional Types
The University of Indianapolis offers courses according to the following instructional types:
- Online asynchronous: A course that is 100% online with no in-person instruction and no required synchronous activities (i.e., no day and time when all students are expected to be online for a web-based educational activity).
- Online synchronous: A course that is 100% online with no in-person instruction and a required synchronous component (i.e., a day and time when all students are expected to be online for a web-based educational activity).
- Hybrid (75% - 99% Online): Over the course of the term, 75% to 99% of instruction is online (synchronous or asynchronous). The remainder of the course requires in-person student participation.
- Hybrid (26% - 74% Online): Over the course of the term, 26% to 74% of instruction is online (synchronous or asynchronous). The remainder of the course requires in-person student participation.
- Traditional (0% - 25% online): Instruction is primarily in-person. Over the course of the term, up to 25% of the course may be online (synchronous or asynchronous).

Additional Policy Information
Student Right-to-Know
In compliance with the federal Student Right-to-Know legislation, the University of Indianapolis must publish the graduation rate for students who complete their degree requirements in 150 percent of the normal time.
- 4-year average Student Right-to-Know completion or graduation rate calculation:
58% (Total Completers within 150% / Adjusted Cohort) - 4-year average Student Right-to-Know transfer-out rate calculation:
27% (Total Transfer-out Students / Adjusted Cohort)
In addition, the University must publish the fall-to-fall retention rate for full time freshmen. 71% of freshmen who enrolled for the first time in the fall of 2023 were still enrolled in the fall of 2024.
